At Swing Stars (CIC), our vision is to give every child the chance to enjoy the health and well-being benefits of playing golf — no matter their physical ability, background, or experience.

Golf is a unique sport that can be played at any pace, in any setting, and by any child. It’s calm and individual nature makes it especially appealing for pupils who may feel excluded from faster, more physical sports such as football or rugby. By creating a fun and supportive environment, we help children discover new skills, build confidence, and enjoy being active.

I founded Swing Stars with one clear aim: to improve the health and happiness of children in primary schools across the North East of England.

Since 2019, I’ve also had the privilege of working with Golf in Society (CIC), helping older adults living with chronic illness or disability experience the therapeutic benefits of golf. Inspired by this work, I launched Swing Stars to bring those same opportunities to children — especially those with disabilities and special educational needs (SEN).

We believe every child deserves the chance to shine. That’s why our sessions are:

  • Inclusive – open to all children, including those with SEN and disabilities
  • Adaptable – we use specially designed equipment and balls for both indoor and outdoor use, with adaptations for wheelchair users where needed
  • Engaging – fun, calm, and steady-paced activities that children of all abilities can enjoy

Swing Stars delivers golf sessions in primary schools across the North East, designed to promote:

  • Physical health
  • Mental well-being
  • Social connection and teamwork
  • A positive introduction to sport for every child

By giving children the opportunity to “have a go,” we aim to spark a lifelong enjoyment of sport and help them carry the benefits of golf into every area of their lives.
