Nurture Groups
Calm, Supportive Sports for Pupils Who Need It Most
At Swing Stars (CIC), we deliver short, calm golf sessions for nurture groups in primary schools across the North East of England.
Designed to last 20–30 minutes, these sessions are ideal for pupils with ADHD, additional needs, or those who find larger PE classes overwhelming.
Why Choose Swing Stars for Nurture Groups?
Golf is a sport that works brilliantly in a small-group setting. Its calm, steady-paced and individual nature helps children focus, feel supported, and enjoy being active without the pressure of competitive team games.
With Swing Stars nurture group golf sessions, pupils will:
- Experience success in sport — often for the very first time
- Take part in focused and engaging activities
- Enjoy a calm, structured environment tailored to their needs
- Build confidence, coordination and concentration in small steps
- Learn patience, respect and self-belief through fun challenges

SEN-Friendly and Adaptable for Every Child
Our Nurture Groups are fully inclusive. We provide adapted equipment for wheelchair users and use lightweight, child-friendly clubs and balls that can be played both indoors and outdoors. This ensures that every child — including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabilities — have the opportunity to take part and succeed.
A Supportive Option That Helps Every Child Succeed
By creating a positive and encouraging environment, we help pupils who may struggle in mainstream PE lessons discover their strengths and enjoy the benefits of physical activity. Our nurture group golf sessions promote health, well-being and confidence — giving every child the chance to shine.
